How I Work

The Process

My Process is all about you. We'll work together to create a space that's unique to you and feels like home. You get to decide how involved in this process you want to be, whether you want to hand over complete control or be involved in every little detail.

One

My process starts with you, we look at your space together and talk about what works currently and what doesn’t. At this stage we will determine our “big uglies”- any major constraints I need to work around. These are things like bump outs, structural eyesores or strangely shaped rooms. Then the fun begins- we figure out how you want the space to look and feel.

Two

Depending on your space we may need to think through layouts. If necessary, this is the stage when I’ll create some overhead layouts to show you different ideas of how your space could be configured.

Three

Next, we turn to the most basic tool for defining your style- Pinterest. This is where you get to dream about your space. We’ll create a board together and start pinning anything and everything that speaks to you. Based on our conversations I’ll give you some starting points to search and pin a few ideas for you to use as a jumping off point.

Once we have some visuals gathered from Pinterest, I may have some questions for you about what it is about these visuals that really speaks to you.

Four

At this point I’ll have a sense of your style and will put together a custom Mood Board. Unlike Pinterest this will be less inspiration and more practical- your Mood Board will combine your current items that you want to keep with the new colors, textures and pieces we will introduce into the space. This is an incredibly valuable step as it will really show you how your space will feel before we commit to big changes and purchases.

Five

Once you’ve looked over the Mood Board we’ll check in and make any necessary adjustments. Then I’ll source all the elements we’re bringing in, showing you samples as needed and gathering options. At this stage you get to decide how involved you want to be- for example you might be picky about curtains, if that’s the case we’ll look at some options together before making a decision. But- you may not want to get involved in the details, if that’s the case this is the stage when you get to sit back and relax. I’ll pull everything together for you from paint colors to coasters and candles.
